This mosaic is meant to be an impermanent piece.  One that can be repeated, rearranged and recreated.  It is a great project to use in your exploration of oceans.

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Rock Salt
  • Food Color
  • Mixing bowls
  • Spoon
  • Cardboard
  • Sticks
  • Hot Glue
  • Sea Creature or Design Outline

Step 1: Drip 1-2 drops of food color in a small bowl of rock salt and stir. Repeat for each color.
Step 2: Hot glue the sticks into a small frame onto the cardboard
Step 3: Choose an option below.

Option 1: If making a free hand design, add blocks of color and experiment with designs and patterns.

Option 2: You may choose to use a design template like an outline drawing of a sea animal.  Put your pattern inside the frame and add the colors in blocks on top to create your design.
